Can I cook more than one bag of Harvester's Pride® Rice in the microwave?
It is not recommended to cook more than one boil-in-bag in the microwave. The stove-top method is best for multiple bags.

Can I cook Harvester's Pride® Rice out of the bag?
YES! Put 1¼ cups of water or other liquid, such as broth, and the contents of one bag of Harvester's Pride® Rice in a pot. Bring to a boil. Cook 10 minutes. Click here for some recipes.

Can I cook Harvester's Pride® Rice in a microwave oven?
YES! To cook one bag of Harvester's Pride® Rice in the microwave, follow these steps:
1) In a 2 quart microwave-safe dish, submerge 1 bag of Harvester's Pride® Rice in water. Microwave on HIGH for 10 minutes.
2) Remove bag from water with fork and allow to drain. Cut open and empty cooked rice into a serving dish. Add margarine and salt if desired.

Can I cook Harvester's Pride® Rice in a pressure cooker?
It is not recommended

Can I cook Harvester's Pride® Rice in a crock pot?
Harvester's Pride® Rice is precooked and dehydrated and only requires 10 minutes to re-hydrate. Since a crock pot recipe requires several hours of cooking time, it is recommended that you fold-in cooked Harvester's Pride® rice towards the end of the cooking time.

Can I reduce the sodium content of a Harvester's Pride® Rice Mix?
Almost all the sodium in any Harvester's Pride® Rice Mix is in the seasoning. By not using all of the seasoning, the sodium content will be reduced. If you have left over seasoning, it can be stirred into Harvester's Pride® White or Brown Rice.

How do I reheat Harvester's Pride® Rice?
Harvester's Pride® Rice can be reheated in the microwave. Just add a small amount of water and microwave until warm, approximately 1-2 minutes.

What can I do with leftover Harvester's Pride® Rice?
Store in refrigerator for one week or in freezer for up to six months.

What is the shelf life of uncooked Harvester's Pride® Rice?
According to the USA Rice Federation, uncooked instant white rice like Harvester's Pride® Rice has a very long shelf life. If stored in a sealable container and protected from infestation and extreme temperature fluctuations, white rice products may be maintained "nearly indefinitely". For longer shelf life, refrigerated storage is recommended.

Uncooked instant regular brown rice can be stored for approximately one year if stored in a sealed container and protected from infestation and extreme temperature fluctuations. For longer shelf life, refrigerated storage is recommended.

How much cooked rice does one bag of Harvester's Pride® Rice make?
A regular size bag of Harvester's Pride® White Rice (3.5oz.) makes 2 cups of cooked rice.
A large size bag of Harvester's Pride® White Rice (5¼oz.) makes 3 cups of cooked rice.
A bag of Harvester's Pride® Brown Rice (3.5oz.) makes 2½ cups of cooked rice.

Is the boil-in-bag recyclable?
YES! The Boil-in Bag is made of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE).

My recipe calls for one cup regular long-cooking rice - can I substitute Harvester's Pride® Rice?
1 bag Harvester's Pride® Rice = 2 cups cooked rice
1 cup uncooked regular rice = 3 cups cooked rice
